Unit Two Terms and Questions Sheet
This unit deals with foundations of American government and early colonial history. We will take at indepth look at various primary sources like Hammarabi's Code, The Magna Carta, The English Bill of Rights, The Mayflower Compact and the Declaration of Independence.
Unit Three Terms and Questions Sheet
This deals almost wholly with the Constituion. We will discuss the intricacies of the Constitutional Convention and the division of the Constitution into articles, sections and clauses.

Hinduism Web quest. Answer the following questions on your chart. I. Background info http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/people/features/world_religions/hinduism.shtml 1. How many people practice Hinduism? 2. What are some ideas central to Hinduism? Click on the heading "Hindu Gods"—according to this would Hindus consider themselves polytheistic? (Feel free to use the various headings on this site throughout the web quest) II. Overall best information site-you can find almost everything here http://www.hindunet.org/Look under the section entitled quick intro- Click Hindu FAQ scroll down and click the link entitled HINDUISM SIMPLFIED. Here you will find a section entitled Questions from a Child to Mother-this is basically a site set up to answer question for youth raised in a western setting--THIS IS US. Read through the questions to discover the answers 1. Find two ways that Hinduism differs from the rest of the other religions 2. What is the significance of the sum sign? 3. Why there are so many gods and goddesses? 4. What are some of the religious celebrations or fasts?( you return back to the main page and click on KIDS & YOUTH you will also find much more information) III. Using the above sites look at the images of the gods. Click on BRAHAMA, VISHNU, GANESH, SHIVA and HANUMAN--note how they are most often portrayed (are they associated with certain symbols or with particular animals, do they possess any certain power). Take special note of the colors and artistic style. You can always do Goggle image search to view other forms of a particular god. Make a chart that will help you identify the god and a characteristic. VI. The final website is

First go under LEARN, click on HINDU DHARMA keep clicking and scrolling until you find the explanation of AHIMSA--write it down. Also under LEARN click on TILAKA. Give me a brief description. Who does this and why? Under the heading PRAY you will see information about AUM--try to draw the symbol. You can also look under this heading for GODS/GODDESS to see some cool/silly animation about the stories of the gods (I especially like the one on Lord Hanuman) There is a animated story of the Ramayanaunder the heading STORIES. Here also you can get "grandpa" to tell you other Hindu bedtime stories. There are kooky puzzles and quizzes under the heading PLAY. Enjoy!
