For all interested parents whose kids are heading for Decatur high school, even if they aren't there yet. You may want to attend this PTA meeting. The DHS PTSA is sponsoring an important special meeting on plans for the Future Redesign of Academic Classes — moving from more homogenous to more heterogeneous classes — at Decatur High School in the coming years. Our principal Lauri McKain-Fernandez will present the vision, research, and strategies that the staff will focus on as changes are implemented and will be available to answer your questions. DHS PTSA president Polly Nodine will moderate the discussion. The format for the evening will be organized so that we can communicate as much information as possible and get as many questions answered as possible. The meeting with be held on Wednesday, May 7 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the DHS Media Center . We are requesting that you submit some of your questions before the meeting so that Ms. McKain-Fernandez may have an idea of some of your concerns and be able to provide you with the latest information availane at this point in the Academic Class Redesign process. Please email your questions to ptsa@dhsparents.org. Of course, there will also be the opportunity to ask questions at the May 7th meeting. Note: The regularly scheduled PTSA meeting on May 1 has been cancelled due to the DHS Band Concert that evening at Agnes Scott College. We hope you will attend the concert and support our wonderful student musicians. We look forward to seeing you on May 7th! The DHS PTSA Communications Team
