Algebra I
We will start working with polynomial functions. We will be able to classify polynomials based on the number of terms. We will start by adding and subtracting polynomials. We will also multiply polynomials and divide polynomials.
We have started preparing for the EOCT. Students are encouraged to use the following website as a means for additional practice: www.usa.testprep.com. They have been given the username and password.
Algebra II
We will start exploring rational functions and their graphs. We will be working in chapter 9 of our textbook. We begin with variation (direct, inverse and joint), we will then work with simple rational functions and their graphs, next we will look at adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing rational expressions and end with solving rational equations.
Homework will be selected from the following problems for the week of
3/10/2008 and will be modified based on what we are able to cover in class each day.
- Monday: pg. 537-539: 21 - 28, 30 -44 even, 54,55; pg. 543-545: 12-28 even, 32 - 38 even
- Tuesday: pg. 550 - 553: 11 - 16, 20 - 25, 26-34 even, 38 - 41, 46 - 48, 49
- Wednesday: pg. 558-560: 16 - 26, 28-35, 38-43, 46-51, 54-59,
- Thursday: Read section 9.5 and be ready for examples
We will have DHQs almost daily. A major quiz will be given on Thursday, March 13th covering sections 9.1 to 9.3
