School Health

The School Health Program, a partnership between DeKalb Medical Center, the City Schools of Decatur, and the state board of education, benefits the 750+ adolescents who attend Decatur High School.

In existance since 1999, this partnership supports a six person school-based staff which includes a fulltime nurse/health educator and an administrative assistant housed at DHS. With the primary focus to ensure tht all students have access to a permanent source of primary health care in the community, the staff serves as a supportive link between the child, the family, and tne health care provider.
